Missouri Western State University is a public, co-educational university located in Saint Joseph, informally called Joe Town or St. Joe, which is the county seat for Buchanan County and the largest city in northwest Missouri, having a population estimated at a number of more than 76 000 inhabitants, during the 2008 census, fact which also makes it the eighth largest city in the state.
